Alpha Plus Teacher Portal
The teacher portal brings OAS-aligned curriculum and assessments, real-time class progress, auto-graded reports, reteaching, pacing, and targeted remediation into one workspace.
Alpha Plus Student Portal
The student portal gives learners direct access to standards-aligned summative assessments and formative quizzes through Alpha Plus Online.
My responsibilities
- Built and maintained teacher and student assessment workflows across React, TypeScript, and Redux.
- Integrated REST APIs and Socket.IO classroom events for assessment state, live monitoring, and reporting.
- Worked on question navigation, attempts and retries, authentication, accessibility, and production delivery.
Achievements
- Delivered connected assessment workflows that support question navigation, attempts, retries, and teacher monitoring.
- Kept teacher controls, student progress, real-time classroom events, and reporting aligned across the two portals.
- Supported production education workflows used to manage assessments and act on classroom results.
Hardest / biggest feature
The assessment and classroom-monitoring workflows, where attempt state, question navigation, retries, Socket.IO events, and teacher reporting have to stay consistent across both portals.
What I learned
Assessment software is defined by its rules and state transitions. Making those explicit across the API, Redux state, and real-time events is more important than adding another abstraction.
